Discover the first chapter of my upcoming book launch, WORK SMART BUSINESS. I share my story and how I went from startup to scale-up to create a multi-six-figure income. I describe easy to implement principals of how I’ve done it with the goal of showing how you can harness these strategies to create your own incredible outcomes. I also explain why entrepreneurs need to create their own opportunities instead of waiting for things to happen and how your mindset and beliefs impact your ability to achieve your entrepreneurial goals.

There are many different ways of working and different mindsets of people who are trying to escape their 9-to-5 by starting a business of their own. Entrepreneurs and business owners will readily share with you how difficult it will be during your first year of business and how unlikely it is that you will succeed. If you follow this mindset, then failure may lie ahead.

Change your mindset so your goals become attainable, and you will succeed where many fail.

“The Power of Premise is the ingredient that makes change happen.” - Jason Linett

  • How to apply a hypnotic way of thinking into the corporate world and why work smart is the roadmap to success.
  • The Power of Premise and how to shift your mindset to help you challenge the myths that stifle success.
  • How to train yourself to adopt a flexible mindset and resist negative scarcity thinking.
  • Why different is ‘better than better’ and an essential ingredient to help you stand out against the rest.
  • How to stand out as an authority in your community.
  • How to craft a short ‘elevator speech’ with your marketing message and credentials, using a technique called the ‘Hollywood effect.’
  • Why entrepreneurs need to create their own opportunities and not wait for them to happen.
  • How to use logic and the Power of Premise to overcome anxiety and nervousness.
  • Belief systems and how the Power of Premise is the ingredient that makes change happen.
  • How to use the Power of Premise to shift your emotional state, stay motivated and continue to grow.

Hypnotherapists can find it a challenge to promote and sell their services or close the sale when the client is in front of them. It is advantageous to learn how to book clients during their initial consultation to increase business success, while also setting the client on the journey towards achieving their goal. Using the right techniques and strategies can quickly lead to a full appointment book.

Today, I share the Neurolinguistic Programming strategies that I apply to my business. I share how you can do this with the ethical strategies that form part of my four-step process. These hypnotic strategies and language patterns will help you to become more influential in your sales, promotions, and acquiring more hypnosis clients.

Want more like this? Join me post-conference at HypnoThoughts LIVE! 2019 for “Neurolinguistic Business,” a live, interactive experience where you’ll learn the patterns of ethical influence and persuasion to grow your business. Reserve your seat now at https://worksmarthypnosis.com/nlpbiz/

“Until we actually know what the person wants to achieve, we don’t yet know exactly what sales strategy to use to help present the program to help them achieve the outcome.” - Jason Linett

  • The definitions of chunking up and chunking down including how language works.
  • How to uncover internal motivations, drivers, values and why they want to do this.
  • Feeding back the motivation-statements that you uncover.
  • Questions and phrases that you can use to chunk up.
  • Presenting your services as a solution.
  • Feeding back what you have learned so far.
  • How the four-step process builds a closing strategy.

4 Step Meta Model Process to Acquire More Hypnotic Clients:

  1. Meta Model Questions to Chunk Down into Specifics.
  2. Strategy Feedback to Look for Motivation and Values.
  3. Chunk Up to appeal to their identity and heighten the need to create the change.
  4. Present your services as a solution feeding back the information.

Balancing your work life with your personal life, while maximizing the profit of your hypnosis business, is something that many professionals find hard to do. For a lot of people, this usually leads to missing out on their children growing up, working through holidays or losing the profit potential of their business. The superhero syndrome is to blame with many hypnotists feeling that they can do everything themselves, while in reality, they are missing out on scaling up their success.

Today, I share with you the audio from my talk on Hypnotic Outsourcing from the HypnoThoughts Live Conference 2018. I discuss why you can't and shouldn’t do it all yourself and explain how outsourcing is adding value to my hypnosis business, even when I am away. I also explain how to approach everything so that you only have to do it once and challenge you to consider if you have been the most appropriately productive as you can be.

“Your job is to be an incredible hypnotist. Embrace your skill, embrace your passion, hand the rest off to someone else.” - Jason Linett

  • The most profitable platform for designing a website.

We dive into the responsibilities of the client and the therapist and the problems that can arise when certain responsibilities are taken on by the wrong party. He shares his user experience and the four steps of the specific protocol he created for working with clients. We also discuss how he uses psychoeducation to build a rapport and level of trust and respect with his clients.

SLEEP! Get ready to learn actionable strategies I have used to prevent clients from falling asleep as well as the strategies I have used to wake them up. I explain the difference between hypnosis and sleep and the signs you can watch for to assess whether a client is awake or not. I also explain how altering the client’s physical position and keeping them activelyengaged in the session not only keeps them awake but offers them a better quality change experience.

In my live classes, I’m often askedwhat to do if a client falls asleep during a session. I believe that a client should be awake to get the most out of their experience, soit’s important to develop strategies for keeping your client awake and responsive throughout their hypnosis session.

“Sleep is one state of mind; hypnosis is another state of mind. You must awaken them to continue the process.” - Jason Linett

  • Why you should never immediately assume that your client is asleep.
  • How to assess whether your client is awake or not.
  • The difference between hypnosis and sleep.
  • Why it is essential that your client is awake during the session.

  • How hypnotic suggestions can awaken the client or make them more engaged.
  • How to tell if your client is more actively or passively engaged in the session.
  • Why I do not record all of my sessions.
  • Four action strategies to awaken your client.
  • The importance of using the proper tonality for hypnotic suggestions.

4 Action Strategies to Awaken Your Client:

  1. Give them a bit of physical interaction.

Kelley T. Woods joins me today to share some of the lessons she has learned from working with kids and how she uses parents as props during her sessions. We discuss the value of working with clients from the mindset of an educator instead of a facilitator of change and she describes how the fact that hypnotherapy is often a client’s last resort can actually be a benefit to the practitioner. She also explains her definition of mindful hypnosis and the tools and techniques she uses to equip her clients so they can practice between sessions and sustain long-term benefits.

Kelley operates the Woods Hypnosis Center, and has extensive training and expertise in the areas of pain management, weight loss, athletic performance, and pediatric hypnosis. Additionally, she has written or co-authored nine books including the award-winning Integrative Hypnosis for Kids and Teens: Playing for Change which she co-authored with Melissa Tiers.

“If we can teach clients these methods and strategies that are easy to do and don’t take a lot of time, then they can not only start to self-regulate, but they can maintain that for the rest of their life.” - Kelley T. Woods

  • Why she believes having a flexible user experience is beneficial to clients.
  • How modeling flexibility allows the client to be flexible.
  • Her advice for how new hypnotists can learn flexibility in their process.
  • The importance of keeping an open mind and learning from your clients.
  • Involving children in the process and allowing them to come up with creative solutions.
  • How practitioners can approach coordination with the parents of a young client.
  • The verbal contract she makes with the parents of her pediatric clients.
  • Why she believes hypnosis is so appealing to children.
  • Her definition of mindful hypnosis.
  • How actively engaging the conscious mind can allow the client to take ownership of their own process.
  • The methods and strategies she teaches clients that they can practice between sessions.
  • Why she uses the emotional detox technique during her client intake process.
  • Why she does not believe people are afraid of hypnosis.
  • The importance of forming strong therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • The dangers of empathizing with clients.
  • The benefits of normalizing what the client is going through.
  • Why she does not believe in using the term “resistant client.”
  • The need for hypnotists to recognize their own limiting beliefs and reframe them.

The Dave Elman Induction is a hypnotic process developed by Dave Elman. This technique is famous for its method called pyramiding. It is a process where you stack several hypnotic inductions - one on top of the other - to provide multiple hypnotic experiences within three to four minutes to get a desired result.

In this episode, I’m going to share how to troubleshoot the Dave Elman Induction and explain how I do it inside my hypnotic sessions. I discuss the different phases of the technique as well as share actionable strategies you can use during your hypnotic sessions. I also share how other hypnotists dilute this process; thus, making it ineffective and the client experience less satisfactory.

“There are no resistant clients. There are only inflexible practitioners.“

  • Why it’s important to know the right words in the correct order when doing this method
  • What fractionation is
  • What could go wrong with fractionation
  • Why client compliance is significant to execute hypnotic suggestions effectively
  • How to make the fourth phase a hypnotic phenomenon
  • A few nuances of the language I use in the Dave Elman Induction
  • How to negate troubleshooting in advance
  • How other hypnotists make the process less effective
  • Elements included in hypnotic suggestions

Steps to the Dave Elman Induction:

  1. Small Muscle Catalepsy
  2. Brief Deepening
  3. Fractionation
  4. Large Muscle Catalepsy
  5. Amnesia by Suggestion
  6. Deepening Throughout

Pursuing a stage hypnosis career can be a very effective way to promote yourself and build a profitable hypnosis business. While preparation is essential, spontaneity and knowledge about the structure as well as the ins and outs of a stage hypnosis program are crucial to delivering a great, successful performance.

In this episode, I share how to harness and leverage success as a stage hypnotist. I’ll explain why you need to build genuine moments in your program, the importance of being present and in the moment while working with stage participants, and the framework necessary to make stage inductions massively entertaining. I’ll also explain how you can use these strategies while working with individual clients to help them achieve greater success and better results.

“You are the director of your program.”

  • The format of most hypnotists on stage
  • The importance of an entertaining induction
  • Future-pacing vs product-pacing marketing strategies for hypnotists.
  • The importance of having a “compliance precedes suggestibility” approach while working with stage hypnosis participants and clients
  • How to select stage hypnosis volunteers that are in compliance with you
  • How I address a common concern for schools regarding stage hypnosis programs
  • How to build up when beginning a hypnosis career
  • Introducing hypnosis vs. showing what hypnosis is good for

Join me as I share specific seven thoughts and ideas regarding where I see the education of the hypnotic process advancing in the coming years. For a process that has only been called “hypnosis” for less than 150 years, we’re too “young” of a profession to fall prey to “that’s how it’s always been done.”

The application of the strategies and techniques continue to evolve. Whether you’re the student or the instructor, it is essential that you know how to enhance your learning process and look for small, specific details that make the hypnosis process more effective.

My primary focus is on how to put more QUALITY into the training, and how to incorporate more context-based learning strategies.

”Think about the learning of hypnosis as more of a process-based learning instead of top-down learning.” – Jason Linett

  • Formulas overs Protocols
  • Context rather than Content
  • Four specific questions to look at the context
  • Flexibility instead of Absolutism
  • The virus of the “Magic Method”
  • Practitioner transcends technique
  • Common Sense over Old Beliefs
  • Authoritarian vs. Permissive
  • Quality over Quantity
  • Continuous Feedback instead of Solo Learning
  • The responsibility of the instructor
  • Hybrid Approach over Single-Track Learning

Harness a powerful conversational hypnosis strategy by listening to this week’s session!

When you first got trained in hypnosis, you were likely led to understand that when you begin your process, you are supposed to look at your client and ask them if they are ready to be hypnotized. This helps your client begin that first step toward lasting change.

However, there are much greater methods to establish “contracts” with your client.

On today’s episode, I talk about the hypnotic contract, the function it serves, how and why we would present the contract, and how environment can have different implications. I also share how you can establish the contract in order to take it further than just achieving a hypnotic state.

“The map into the problem is often the map out of it.” - Jason Linett

  • How to open up your own calibration and listen to your client
  • What metaphors can teach you about the client and how you can use them
  • How to compound an idea of change
  • How to have the client validate what would work best for them
  • Ways to provide the contract with choices to the client
  • How validating metaphors creates a hypnotic contract
  • Verifying and establishing an anchor and how the hypnotic contract feeds into it
  • Test driving your hypnotic process
