Everything can change at a moment's notice, and it's easy to fall into the rut of having a false sense of comfort. Perhaps you have left a career you no longer enjoy to change your life, but you have not found your passion within the scope of hypnotherapy. It is vital to find your unique proposition, run your business more efficiently, and have a scalability mindset. You need to know when to scale up your efforts, level up what you are doing, change your business model, and throw a wrench into the system to put your message out to a bigger audience while still maintaining your existing business.

Today, I share what I’m doing right now and the upcoming theme of the podcast episodes that will air during the month of August. I highlight the most significant risks to your business and why you need to assess where you are and where you want to be. Barbara C. Phillips joins me today to share how medical hypnosis can help clients with chronic pain and anxiety. She discusses the role of the hypnotist and being there as a resource to take the suffering out of pain. She reveals the strategies you can use to help clients overcome anxiety and self-esteem issues. She shares how the hypnotic process can become the induction instead of a formalized ritual for how it all fits together. Barbara also highlights why it is essential to identify your ideal clients, the clients you will work the best with, and why you should take an evidence-based approach to the work.

Barbara is the owner of Hypnosis Mind Works, where she helps chronic pain sufferers and clients with anxiety. Barbara is a nurse practitioner and became fascinated with hypnosis after getting hypnotic results as a client to overcome a phobia. Barbara’s formal training was through the University of Minnesota and the Minnesota Society of Clinical Hypnosis. She is a certified hypnosis trainer with the ICBCH and holds certificates in Medical Hypnosis, Conversational Hypnotherapy, Integrative Addictions Solutions, and more. Barbara regularly speaks as an NP and leads workshops on professional development across the country.

We exist as a hypnosis profession because society has found that we can help many people. Things that are viable stick around, and things that do not fade away or are eliminated. We have to recognize when to turn away potential clients, such as when a physiological reason may exist for a symptom the person is seeking help. With doctors and medical professionals, it is vital to remember that it shouldn’t be a case of ‘us versus them.’ It is essential that we appropriately play our role in society and integrate ourselves into what is working for that client.

But, how do you determine when to refer out? How do you network with the medical community if you don’t have connections?

Today, I share how to make medical networking easy. I discuss how to network appropriately with medical professionals and bridge the gap to serve your clients better. I share the best routes to building a portfolio of “warm connections,” including two dialogues you can use to reach out. I also highlight the advantages of posting medical research on your website and how to improve the SEO of your website.

Danna Pycher joins me today to share how you can help clients in distress with auto-immune hypnosis. She shares how she started her business, found her niche, and attracted clients by creating a ripple effect in the early days. Danna highlights how physical distress and addiction are often coping mechanisms that have become hypersensitive, resulting in sensory overload. Danna also reveals the techniques she uses, including targeting hypnotic age regression on one specific symptom or body part, then generalizing that change once something is in motion.

Danna is the founder of The Transformation Clinic, where she uses a blend of NLP and hypnotherapy to help clients with trauma and disease. Danna discovered hypnosis after a near-fatal accident left her with post-traumatic stress, which traditional therapy did not resolve. Before finding her fascination and curiosity with hypnosis, Danna worked as a journalist and in media production. Today, Danna is an author and travels the world, speaking on how our minds work and how it is possible to lift people out of suffering in a sustainable way.
